Obama TV in the making!
I don't think I can overturn the United States Supreme Court decision (from 1969), but watching Tucker Carlson debate Marc Perkel of "Burningtheflag.org" Tucker seemed to have trouble getting his argument through based on the disgrace to the people who fought wars for the United States and the value symbolized by the flag. Perkel would argue that the First Amendment right is part of the value that these people fought for.
As John D. Rockefeller puts it,
"Every right implies a responsibility; every opportunity, an obligation, every possession, a duty..." and this concept is universal and part of the natural law that trenscends the U.S. constitution. Like paying taxes.
Burning the flag may not be an act
of terrorism but it could be disturbing to many people, especially to the uneducated and to children. Like R rated movies and games.
Would you destroy the logo of your favorite Mecedes just because you own the car? Would you take it for a spin to impress your girlfriends to
prove your freedom of expression?
The U.S. flag symbolizes everything that the U.S. values. If you burn the flag, your freedom of expression will also go up in flames with it.
