Roots and influence

I'm often asked by the music I listen to, about the music I'm listening during the week or about the japanese hip-hop scene, etc. What about if they ask me about the artists that are directly influencing my sounds when I'm producing and creating music? I could give many notes, details and names but nothing like discovering it by yourself.
