Great Buddha（Daibutsu）
This is the Great Buddha of Todaiji Temple in Nara City, Nara Prefecture.
I think many people know it because it is famous.
The world's largest gilt bronze Buddha.
The ceremony for its completion was held in 752 AD.
The number of attendees at the ceremony reached over 10,000.
It was Emperor Shomu who proposed the idea of building the Great Buddha.
Emperor Shomu is the 45th emperor.
The height of the Great Buddha is approximately 15 meters.
The sitting height is 1498cm.
The height of the copper seat is 304cm.
The official name of the Great Buddha is Harusanabutsu.
The name means that the light illuminates the world.
A total of 2.6 million people, about half of Japan's population at the time, helped build it.
