Let's enjoy world news

Japan's Population to Shrink Nearly a Third by 2060
The world's oldest country is about to get even older.

New figures released by the government estimate people
aged 65 and older will make up nearly 40 percent of
the population of Japan 50 years from now.

Even more troubling, the country's population is
expected to shrink by 30 percent, with birth rates
showing little signs of improvement.

In the last few decades, Japan's social security budget
has soared 15 percent, an increase of 1 trillion yen per
year.

Complicating the issue, is Japan's dismal birthrate.
Young workers have increasingly become reluctant to start
families, because of financial concerns.

Women are putting off marriage altogether, worried it
could tie down their careers.

On average, Japanese women have 1.4 children.
That number is 1.9 for U.S. women.

There is one number that continues to go up: Japan's
life expectancy.

Already the highest in the world, researchers estimate
life expectancy for Japanese women will increase from
86 to 91 over the next half century.

The number is expected to rise from 79 to 84, for men.

Earlier this year, Chevrolet launched a contest asking consumers
to create a commercial that would air during one of its
Super Bowl spots on Feb. 5, and the automaker has found a winner
in 26-year-old Zach Borst.

Zach Borst, an aspiring filmmaker from New York, has created this
funny ad that shows a high school student confusing the graduation
gift from his parents to be a Chevy Camaro. In the commercial,
his parents are actually giving him a mini-fridge, but the excited
high school kid jumps up and down, screaming, believing that the
yellow Camaro parked in front of the house is his.

As the winner of the ad contest, Zach Borst not only gets his
commercial aired during the big Super Bowl game but also receives
$25,000.

Madonna not totally sharing the love with Lady Gaga?

Lady Gaga has been up front about her admiration for Madonna.
But does Madonna share the love?

The "Material Girl" sounded lukewarm in U.S. interviews released
on Friday, calling her influence on Gaga's music "interesting"
and "amusing." Sometimes.

"I certainly think she references me a lot in her work.
And sometimes I think it's amusing and flattering and well done,"
Madonna, 53, told ABC News in a television interview.

The comparisons between the two divas, both known for combining
provocative stunts with catchy dance-pop hits, came to a head
when Gaga released her "Born This Way" single last February.

The song was instantly likened to Madonna's 1989 hit "Express Yourself".

"When I heard it on the radio.
I said that sounds very familiar," Madonna said.
Asked if that felt annoying, Madonna responded, "It felt reductive."

"I mean, I recognized the chord changes. I thought it was...
interesting," she added.

"Born This Way" became an instant hit for Lady Gaga, 25,
topping the charts in 19 countries and becoming the fastest
selling song in iTunes history.
