Wealthy father offers $63-million to man who will marry lesbian daughter
Hong Kong tycoon Cecil Chao Sze-tsung wants someone to woo his girl, but there's a problem — she's a lesbian.
a father's public plea for a man — any man, as long as he's "generous and kind-hearted" — to marry his daughter has captivated the Internet.
As the Telegraph reports, wealthy Hong Kong businessman Cecil Chao Sze-tsung is offering $63-million to any member of the male sex who manages to lure his lesbian daughter, Gigi Chao, away from her female partner of seven years.
"Gigi is a very good woman with both talents and looks," her father tells the South China Morning Post.
Never mind that the younger Chao, 33, is reported to have entered a civil partnership with longtime girlfriend, Sean Eav, last April.
Instead, the 76-year-old property tycoon hopes the financial incentive will appeal to an entrepreneurial man, either "rich or poor" who "has the talent but not the capital to start his own business."
Highest-Calorie Menu Item at McDonald's? Not a Burger
Torn between a Big Mac and a Double Quarter Pounder with Cheese?
McDonald's Corp. (MCD) customers will have an easier time of it next week, when the burger giant's restaurant and drive-thru menu boards across the country will show that the Big Mac, at 550 calories, is 200 calories leaner than the other burger.
But other choices won't be so clear-cut, like the Double Cheeseburger with 440 calories or the Southwest Salad with Crispy Chicken, which weighs in at 450. McDonald's highest-calorie item isn't a burger at all, but the 1,150-calorie Big breakfast with hotcakes and large biscuit.
And the healthy-sounding 22-ounce mango pineapple smoothie matches the 350 calories in the grilled chicken sandwich. (Click here for a PDF of McDonald's USA Nutrition Facts for Popular Menu Items.)

Most popular baby names, 2011 vs. 1911: 'William’stands the test of time
Popular baby names in the U.S. have changed dramatically over the past 100 years.
But some things never change, including our nation's love of the name "William."
Data from the Social Security Administration shows that virtually none of the top 20 most popular names from 1911 is still in the rankings in the most recent statistics from 2011.
For example, the most popular names in 2011 were "Jacob" for boys and "Sophia" for girls.
But in 1911, they were "John" and "Mary." Again, as mentioned above, neither "John" nor "Mary" even
Science Is Getting Closer to Curing Baldness How close Is science to curing baldness?
Researchers know what causes it, and they’re developing strategies to reverse it. The vitamin D factor
While you've probably heard of the expensive treatments likes Rogaine and Propecia, the latest hair loss remedy is so simple it's silly: Vitamin D.
This basic nutrient is all the rage in baldness research, according to a new report in The Wall Street Journal.
Unlike the products currently on the market, innovative new treatments targeting vitamin D receptors have the ability to help people who are already bald regrow their hair.
To figure out the cure for baldness, obviously, the first step is to figure out the cause.
Scientists are pretty sure they've got this part of the equation down.
Essentially, every hair follicle on your head produces a hair every two to six years and then lies dormant for a few weeks or months.
For those who suffer from baldness, these follicles simply stop waking up over time.
Then, a breakdown in communication stops new skin cells from becoming follicles -- they become regular skin cells instead.
The key to switching these cells back in the right direction are those vitamin D receptors, and so baldness researchers have been focusing all of their energy in this direction.
Don't get all excited and go buy a boatload of vitamin D, though.
The advances in research have less to do with the presence of the nutrient that it does with how your body uses it.
That said, most Americans don't get enough vitamin D, and the stuff is actually really good for you.
So, heck, go ahead and buy a boatload of vitamin D.
And if you happen to start growing a ton of hair, do drop a note to your local dermatologist.
Given the fact that an estimated 35 million men suffer from baldness, the cure is going to be worth a ton of money.

----------- 原稿 ------------ McDonald's opening first vegetarian stores
The burger chain is debuting two meatless outlets because of religious restrictions in this country. No Big Mac
For the first time ever, McDonald's (MCD) is opening a pair of restaurants that will not serve any meat at all, reports Amy Kazmin at the Financial Times.
Both of the restaurants will open next year in India — one in the city of Amritsar (the holiest site in the Sikh religion), and one in the town of Katra (a "jump-off point" for Hindus visiting the mountain shrine of Vaishno Devi.)
The stores will serve the vegetarian items currently sold in Indian McDonald's restaurants, and the chain will likely develop some new items as well.
“A vegetarian store makes absolute sense in the places which are famous as pilgrimage sites,” McDonald's India spokesperson Rajesh Kumar Maini told the FT.
It's all because of local preferences.
Cows are sacred in India, and much of the country is vegetarian.
So the existing McDonald's locations in India don't serve beef, but they do serve lots of chicken in its place.
For instance, there's no Big Mac in India.
Instead, stores serve the Maharaja Mac, which has chicken patties.
It also sells the Filet-o-Fish, Chicken Nuggets and more non-beef menu items. The two vegetarian locations won't serve any chicken or fish items at all.
