（Louis Armstrong）
サッチモ (Satchmo) という愛称で親しまれた
20世紀を代表するジャズ・ミュージシャンの一人。

サッチモという愛称は「satchel mouth」（がま口のような口）
というのをイギリス人記者が聞き違えたとする説や
「Such a mouth!」（なんて口だ！）から来たとする説などがある。
その他に、ポップス (Pops)という愛称もある。

愛称が多いというのは、人気者だということだ。

彼が生まれ育ったのは、ニューオーリンズの貧しい地区で
であったらしい。

子供の頃、祭りに浮かれ、ピストルを発砲、少年院に送られる

こととなったらしい。

当時の彼にとっては、人生最大の失態だったろうな。
しかし、その大ピンチは、その後　大きなチャンスとなる。

少年院のブラスバンドでコルネットを演奏することになる。
それが彼の最初の楽器との出会いとなった。

この出会いは、ピンチの中でしか、出会えなかっただろう。

Habits 習慣が癖になる

癖って、ある時期の習慣が元になる場合がある。

毎日やっていること　つまり　Daily ruoutine が

気が付くと、りっぱな癖になっていることがわかるかも

しれない。

ラグビーで一躍有名になった五郎丸さんも

あのroutineをしないと、あれだけのゴールは決められなかった

かもしれない。

今や、僕がroutineを説明する時、あのポーズをするのが癖になった。

Indonesian Actress Confesses to Habit of Drinking

From Baby Milk Bottle for 24 Years

For her entire 24 years of life, Indonesian Actress Anya Geraldine has been drinking
from a baby milk bottle. Yes, you read that right.

She confessed to her habit in a recent Twitter update with a picture of her drinking
from a baby bottle while lying in bed.

Her tweet posted on 27 June 2020, was accompanied with an angel emoji.

She details that she was forced to hide her habit due to her parents' disapproval.
She was told to stop her baby bottle drinking habit when she was in the sixth grade.

Anya said that she started to drink from them again when she went to college.
For many years, Anya has tried to kick the habit but to no avail.

She wrote that she continued with her bottle drinking habit even after moving out
to live on her own.

She, too, is deeply puzzled over why she is unable to overcome this habit.

コロナウイルスの影響でいろいろなことが起こり、変わり、

そして今年後半に入っていきます。

自粛が緩和され、早速、邪気を払いに　ある鬼を訪れました。

地元のかき氷屋さん、「コロナの影響でホテルはずっと閉まっていた。

あさやさんが口火をきって再開したよ」と。　

やはり　あさやさんだね。

大変なご時世、誰かが先陣をきらないと　何もかも始まらない。

クレアは、いつものように　レストランのウエイトレスを
やっていた。

カップル客が出た後　テーブルに　チップが置かれていた。

３６ドル

彼らが食べたのは　ホットドックだった

チップは　多過ぎる

クレアは、そのテーブルに　１枚のメモを見つけた

「Today is my brother's b-day,　He would have been 36 today.
Every year I go eat his favorite meal,　hot dogs and
tip the waitress his age. Happy B-day Wes.」


それを読んだ　クレアは　涙が止まらなかった


メモには

「今日は、私の弟の誕生日なのです。　彼は３６歳になっているはず。
　毎年、彼の好きだったホットドックを食べに来ます　そして、
　彼の年の分だけチップをおきます。　誕生日おめでとう　ウェス」


ホットドックを　彼の名前にちなんで　ウェスドックと呼びたい。

Sunday started out as a normal day waiting tables for Claire Hudson.


The 25-year-old was working a double shift for her job at local burger joint,
Mac's Grub Shak, when something amazing happened.

"It was actually a really slow day and then this couple came in," said Hudson
of Spring Hill, Tennessee.

"I didn’t even realize the tip until after they were gone."
The unidentified diners had left a $36 tip on a bill that couldn't have been
more than $30.

In addition to the $36, the couple also left Hudson with a note explaining
the heartfelt meaning behind the digits.

"Today is my brother's b-day," it said, written behind the credit card receipt.
"He would have been 36 today. Every year I go eat his favorite meal (hot dogs)
and tip the waitress his age. Happy B-day Wes."


"I was in tears when I read it," Hudson said. "I had to go in the back of the
restaurant and compose myself before I went out to my other tables."

"We want to see what his brother Wes liked on his hot dogs because we'd like to
name a hot dog after him," she said.

It was deeply moving and just the coolest thing that’s ever happened.
