先日の寒さ厳しい日、渋谷駅で修行僧が立っていました。
ピリピリした寒さの中、彼のまわりには初夏の爽やかな竹林が見えるような、そして大勢の人が行き交う渋谷駅の雑踏の中、彼のまわりには静寂が漂っていました。この真逆のコントラストを創り出す彼の精神の高さ、その凛とした佇まいに感動して、しばし見とれてしまいました。
One day in very cold winter, I found an ascetic monk in the middle of crowded and noisy Shibuya station. He created an atmosphere of tranquility in bustle and as if he was in brisk bamboo forest in early summer in spite of winter.
I gasped and drank in the beauty of his world.....
