When I returned home
for three-day weekend in September.
I went to Kyoto to visit my father's grave.
Even though it was mid-September,
the temperature was around 35 degrees Celsius.
When I visited the grave,
I found myself dripping with sweat
because there was no shade in the cemetary.
When I went to see the graves of my relatives,
I saw people visiting the graves.
When I asked them,
I found out that they were a family consisting
of the daughter of an unkle and aunt
who ofthen spoke at memorial services.
Her father has a bad leg
and he is admitted to a facility.
She said her mother passed away a year
and a half ago.
The memorial servises that used to be held
during the Spring and Autumn Equinox
and Obon holidays
have not been held at all during the four years
of the coronavirus pandemic.
I felt lonely, wishing that the long four-year period of coronavirus
had not passed.
The Shinkansen is by for the most convenient way
to go from Kobe to Kumamoto.
The Mizuho and Sakura Shinkansen trains
that take you directly to Kyushu run frequently,
and the reserved seats are spacius
and comfortable.
However, I used a plane to return
from a three-day weekend in September.
The miles I had acuuumlated from my travels
before the coronavirus were about to expire,
so I wanted to use them up.
It takes about an hour
by bus from Kobe to Itami Ariport.
I arrived at the airport without any majour traffic jams.
The plane heading for Kumamoto
from Itami Airport was a 100-seater
propeller plane.
It's been a while since I've been
on a propeller plane on a domestic flight.
The plane was small and the seat were small.
It's very different from the Shinkansen.
Still it was almost full.
The bus going from Kumamoto Airport
to Kumamoto City was also crowded,
and even though the seats
were small, they were full.
Until I move to Kobe,
I will probanly have to make two and a half more
round trips due to house procedures
and other matters.
Transportation costs are not too expensive,
so I have to be frugal
when thinking about the future.
I still have miles left,
so Ihave to fly home.
