With my host dad...

My host dad took me to TNRD's meeting the other day. TNRD stands for Thompson-Nicola Regional District, which is a regional district in the Canadian province of BC. According to The Canada 2006 Census the population of TRND was 122,286. The administrative offices are in Kamloops, which has almost 65 percent of the regional district's population. The mayor of Kamloops got elected to be the president of TNRD, so he works for the city and region. This is very rare, so the article about him and TNRD was in the next day's newspaper. I had been taking a course about Community Planning (Geography 212), so I learned about TNRD, too. My instructor actually works for TNRD, so I met her there, too. It was a rare opportunity.
。。On Thursday, my host dad and I went to the airport to see my host mom off. She was flying to Victoria to see her grandchild being born. When we arrived at the airport, she got a call from her daughtar and was told that she was dilated. We thought my host mom wouldn't be able to make it to see the baby's birth. We came home and I went to school to get a massage. My host mom said I should get a massage because my shoulders were too stiff. The therapist was very funny and I was so relaxed while getting a massage even though it was my first time. I felt like
I was on top of the world....so good...he said I need more stretching and exercise. Sigh* It was too good to describe :)

I have no idea how cold that is...He bought me a thick jacket!!!!!!! Isn't that nice?? :D I said I didn't deserve it, but he said not to worry because I am one of his daughters. I was so moved. It is difficult to think of them as family members, but my host family accept me. It is super warm and I feel like I am wrapped by futon when wearing it. SO GOOD. Thank you very much. It should help me a lot this winter.
We went to an International Food Party at Immigrant Service. There were Mexican, Indian, Chinese, Japanese, Portuguese, Slovakian....etc. Everything was so delicious, so I stuffed myself...haha. I like exotic food. Yummy~♪
After that, we went to Wild Life Park to see the illuminations and fire works. It was wonderful and beautiful. My image of fireworks is summer and Japanese, but I watched the fireworks in the cold. The smell reminded me of summer, but it was still cold...I felt a very weird feeling. It was a long-happy day. Now I feel like my host dad is a real dad.
