今日は相変わらずに友達と会いに行きました。
But... the cafe was so busy, she couldn't find parking nearby, and she parked in that plaza on University Ave.
でも。
カフェは忙しくて駐車場が空いてなかったので、彼女は隣の店の駐車場にとまりました。
５分後、車に戻ったとき、レッカーがもう来たと知りました。そう、車がなくなっていました。
Of course, she was towed, immediately. After all, this is Gainesville we're talking about. She had only left the plaza for 5 minutes, but tell that to the 200 pound tow-truck drivers. So, we had to call up her friend to pick us up and take us downtown to the towing company to pay $75 dollars to get her car back.
幸いに、彼女の知り合いがそのへんにいたから、早く電話して、ダウンタウンにあるレッカー会社まで送ってもらいました。（車を返してもらうのは＄７５かかりましたけど...)
Anyways, after all that was cleared up, we chatted in Maude's cafe
and she loaned me some Japanese books to use for my final translation project. 
(And for reading practice!)とにかく、その後、私達違うカフェでしゃべったりして、彼女が日本の本や漫画を貸してくれました。
翻訳の授業のファイナルプロジェクトとして、百田尚樹より、「輝く夜」という本にある話を翻訳してみます！
One of them is a collection of short stories about Christmas??? So I'll translate a few of them for class. Hurray!
