英国に行ってきました。
正確にはロンドン市内ですが、美術館めぐりもしてきました！
というわけで、向こうの美術館で売っていたハガキを紹介します。

最初は、大英博物館です。

左から2番目の黒い猫（猫の女神バステト）は、私のお気に入り
です。
実物大のレプリカを販売していたのですが、値段が高くて
（猫の耳輪や首飾りに、黄金とラピスラズリがあしらってあるのです）

猫を使って狩りをする絵。
エジプトにしては珍しく、動きのある絵として有名なのだそうです。

こちら↓は、昔、大英博物館の敷地内にあった大英図書館の収蔵品のハガキです。
'The Southern Constellations according to the ancients'
A chart from the celestial atlas Harmonia Macrocosmica by Andreas Cellarius.
Published in Amsterdam by Janssonius in 1660 and dedicated to King Charles Ⅱ of England.

英国の美術館のとんでもなさは、よく言われておりますが、
まったくその通りです。
スケールといい、収蔵品といい、本当に世界中のものが集められていて、大英帝国がいかに強大な国であったかを垣間見た思いがしました。
英国人が通ったあとは、草木一本残らなかったに違いない！ 遺跡の壁のレリーフを20メートルくらい剥ぎ取ってきてたり、ギリシャの神殿をまるごとひとつ運んできてたり、そんなのがザラなんですよ〜
次回は、ヴィクトリア＆アルバート博物館です。
