About Buses in the UK and Rwanda
市民の最も一般的な移動の足の１つであるバスですが、今回はイギリスとルワンダのバスを比較してみたいと思います。
One of the most common ways of transportation is the bus. I am going to compare the bus Rwanda in this blog posting.
ロンドンと言ったら赤いバスですね。
Red buses are very famous in London.
イギリス（この写真はロンドン）では2階建てのバスが有名です。小さいころにミニカーがあったような気もします。基本的に料金は￡1.75（日本円で320円ほど）だと思います。
Great Britain (London) is famous for double decker buses. I might have had a model car of them when I was a child. I think the price is basically ￡1.75.
ルワンダのバスです。
ハイエース的な車両に17-18人くらい乗ります。多分重量オーバーでしょうね。
These cars are buses in Rwanda. They are like Hiace and 17 or 18 people (passengers) can be in a bus. It will be over capacity.
ルワンダやアフリカ（ケニア？）のこのようなバス（乗合バス）はマタツ(Matatu)と言ったりするそうです。最近覚えました（覚えるの遅いですが）。道で走っているバスに手をあげると止まってくれて、乗ることができます。降りるときもいつでも（どこでも）降ろしてくれます。料金は一区間（およそ15㎞）500RWF（日本円で50-60円ほど）です。
Buses (Shared buses) like upper pics in Rwanda or Africa are called Matatu. Recently, I remembered this name. It’s too late to remember. When a bus is running and I raise my hand, the bus will stop in front of me and I can get on the bus. When I get off, I can get off whenever I want. The fare is 500 RWF between two towns (approximately 15km).
続いて車内を見てみましょう。

まずはロンドンのバスから
We are going to see London’s bus first.
赤いボタンは降車ボタンです。2階席です。
We push a red button when we want to get off. And This is the second floor.
一方でルワンダのバスです。よく隣の町のカフェに行くときに乗っています。
On the other hand, this is a Rwandan bus. When I go to the café next town, I usually get on this bus.
窮屈なのを除いては素晴らしいのですが…
とても使いやすいです。
It’s great for us except it is always crowded. It’s very useful.
次はバスからの眺めを見てみましょう。
「世界の車窓から」ですかね。
Next, let’s see the view from the bus.
It is “From the car window of the world” (Title of a famous Japanese TV program).
イギリスのバスの中からの眺めです。
This is the view from the bus in the UK.
ロンドンのバスです。高い位置から見下ろすというのはロンドンのバス特有だと思います。トラックの運転手さんの眺めはこんな感じなのでしょうか。マクドナルドがありますね。
This is from a view of a bus in London. It is very specific for UK bus to look down from the high position. Truck drivers might be able to see like this. There’s McDonald’s.
リバプールのバスからの眺めです。日本のバスよりは揺れます。
This is a view from Liverpool. It sways more than Japanese buses.
次はルワンダのバスの中からの眺めです。

この道は舗装されていませんが、主要な道路は舗装されています。
This road is not paved. But major roads are paved.
ルワンダは景色が良いですね。まるでサファリのようです。
The view is great in Rwanda. It’s just like a safari.
ということで、ルワンダとイギリスのバスの比較でした。どちらもそれぞれ特徴があっておもしろいですね。乗り心地は日本のバスが1番です。
This is comparison between the British bus and Rwandan bus. Both have their own characteristics and it is very interesting. Japanese bus is the most comfortable of all.
