①彼が持っているものは？
What does he have?
ニワトリです。家の前を歩いているとニワトリを持って歩いているお兄さん発見。
この町では基本的にニワトリは生きた状態で一匹買いしかできません。さすがに一人では全部食べ切れませんし、少しハードルが高いですよね。
He has a chicken. I saw a man who had a chicken and walked in front of my house.
We can only buy a whole living chicken in this town. It is difficult for me (one man) to eat. It is not easy to do it.
自転車で生きたニワトリやヤギを運ぶなんてこともよく見かけます。
It is common to see people who carry living chickens or goats.
②キガリ滞在
Stay at Kigali
先週は大使館の新年会のためキガリへ上がりました。一泊の短い滞在でしたが、せっかくなので宿泊した宿の紹介をします。
I went to Kigali last week to attend the New year’s party of the Japanese embassy.
Though it was a short stay (one night), I am going to introduce a hotel I stayed at.
まず滞在したホテルの部屋の写真です。
First, the next pic is the room in which I stayed.
普通のベッドルームです。上に見えるのは蚊帳です。高級ホテルには蚊帳がない印象です。
It is the usual bedroom. You can see a mosquito net. I think there is no mosquito net in the luxury hotel.
クローゼットもありました（写真左）。
There was a closet in my room (left in this picture).
中は…壊れています。無いよりマシですかね。
Inside is…It was broken. It is better than no closet in a room.
シャワールームです。水圧は低かったですが、お湯のシャワーもでました。
This is a shower room. In spite of the low pressure, there was a hot shower.
それからホテルからの景色も良かったです。ルワンダらしい千の丘の景色です。
The view from the hotel was very good. It was a typical Rwandan view, thousand hills.
宿の近くのハンバーガー屋さんでハンバーガーを食べました。かなり美味しいです。
I ate a hamburger at a hamburger shop near the hotel. It was so delicious.
バーガープラネットというお店です。
店内の様子です。アメリカンダイナーという感じです。

③Rwandan people’s clothes
ルワンダの人の洋服
次の写真は最近見たルワンダ人の洋服です。
Next two pics are of Rwandan people’s clothes which I saw recently.
バスの中で。
日本から来た古着ですかね。着物を着た女性のＴシャツなんて日本でもほとんど見かけません。
In the bus.
Is this a used cloth from Japan? We can rarely see T-shirts which are designed with a woman wearing Kimono (Japanese traditional cloth) .
同僚のジョエル君です。最近寒いので、彼はこのパーカーをよく着ています。
This is my colleague, Joel. Because of the cold weather, he usually wears this parka these days.
「この食べ物知ってるの？」と聞いたら「知らない」とのこと。
「日本で人気なラーメンという食べ物で、とても美味しいよ」と言うと。
「作ってくれ」と「いつかね」と返しておきました。
それにしてもラーメンのパーカーとはおもしろいですね。
I asked him “Do you know this food?”
He said “No”
“This is a popular food in Japan called Ramen. It is so delicious” I said.
He said “Cook it for me” and I replied “Someday”.
It is very interesting that he wears a Ramen parka.
