今回は日本から持ってくるべきもの（持ってきてよかったもの）を紹介します。
I will introduce better things to bring from Japan in this blog posting.
①携帯電話、ノートパソコン
携帯電話やノートパソコンなどは多くの人が持ってくると思います。
こちらのノートパソコンや携帯電話は低品質、高額というのが当たり前です。首都のキガリではiPhoneが手に入ります。とは言ってもiPhone6か7のような古いモデルの中古が500ドルくらいしました。長期で海外に来る際は予備のスマートフォンも持ってきた方が良いかもしれません。昨年の4月の休みに日本に帰った際に予備の携帯電話も買ってきました。iPhoneは盗まれる可能性が他の携帯電話に比べるとかなり高いのが問題ですね。被害者は語る…
①Mobile phone and laptop
Many people will bring a mobile phone and laptop when they go abroad. I think almost all mobile phones and laptops are bad quality and expensive here.
We can buy iPhone in Kigali. But it is very expensive. It costs about 500 dollars even though they are used and too old iPhone6 or 7. I think it will be better that we buy another phone and bring it when we go abroad for a long period. I bought another iPhone when I went back to Japan last April holiday. Compared to other mobile phones, iPhone can be stolen more often. It is a serious problem. My iPhone was stolen and I can tell you.

②ゴアテックス、折りたたみ傘
GORE-TEXは防水素材で、日本ではGORE-TEX素材が用いられている洋服や靴が販売されています。ルワンダ(アフリカ）などの開発途上国では売っていないのではないでしょうか。折りたたみ傘も同様です。雨季のあるルワンダでは突然の豪雨も多く、防水のゴアテックスや折りたたみ傘は非常に役に立ちます。
②GORE-TEX, Folding umbrella
GORE-TEX is a waterproof material and we can easily buy GORE-TEX products such as clothes, shoes etc in Japan. We can not buy them in Rwanda (Africa) or other developing countries. Folding umbrella is the same as GORE-TEX products. Because we have a rainy season in Rwanda, they are very useful when we have sudden heavy rain.
ゴアテックス素材のジャケットです。大雨が降ってきても全く問題ありませんでした。ゴアテックスの靴ももってきています。
This is a GORE-TEX jacket. It was no problem that we had a heavy rain. I brought GORE-TEX shoes and I wear them.
③モバイルバッテリー
途上国だと停電は避けられないので、いつ停電になってもよいようにモバイルバッテリーを用意しておくと安心です。基本的に（電気が通っている時）常に充電を満タンにしておくことを心がけています。おそらく首都や大都市に行けばモバイルバッテリーは買うことができますが、日本に比べれば高価かつ粗悪品だと思います。
③Mobile battery
Due to unstable electricity, we can't prevent the blackout in developing countries such as African countries. Mobile batteries are very useful when the blackout occurs. I always try to make the battery fully charged when the electricity is working. We can probably buy a mobile battery in a big city or capital. But it is expensive and low quality.
2つのモバイルバッテリーを使っています。モバイルバッテリーも日本は安いと思います。
I use two mobile batteries alternately. Mobile batteries are also very cheap in Japan.
④携帯電話等の充電ケーブル
携帯電話やPCの充電ケーブルも予備を含めて持ってくる必要があるかと思います。キガリで買った時に店員が純正と言っていたライトニングケーブルは数日で壊れてしまいました。日本の100均で買ったものの方がよっぽど良いものだと思います。また電圧が不安定なため、PCと携帯の充電ケーブルはそれぞれ一つずつ壊れてしまいました。
④Cable for charge mobile phones
It is better to bring the cable for charging mobile phone or PC. Lightning cable for iPhone which I bought in Kigali and a shop staff told me it is licensed. But it broke within several days after I bought it. It is better quality that we buy at 100 yen only shops in Japan.
Due to unstable voltage, each of my cable for PC and iPhone was broken.
長いもので、頑丈なものが良いと思います。
I think long and strong cables are better.
⑤耳栓
日本の社会は良くも悪くも人を気遣う社会です。そこらへんここでは（ルワンダでは）異なっており、バスの中でも普通に大声で電話で話したり、大音量で音楽やラジオを聴いたりすることは珍しくありません。寝たいのにうるさい、そんな時に耳栓が役立ちます。
実際に耳栓をして寝ると良く眠れます。外国の都市にいる知り合いも耳栓をして寝ることはよくあるそうです。そもそも日本と外国ではうるさいと感じる音量が異なるように思います。もちろん、日本はかなり静かな国という意味です。
⑤Ear plugs
We take it granted that we take care other people in Japanese society. It is absolutely different here. It is not an unusual sight that some people calling or listening to the radio or music with high volume in the bus. When I want to sleep and somehow feel noisy, ear plugs are very useful. Actually, I can have a good sleep with ear plugs. My friend who lives in a big city told me he usually sleeps with ear plugs. First of all, The volume which we feel noisy is a big differences between Japan and other countries. Of course, I mean Japan is a very silent place.
日本から持ってきた耳栓です。洗えるやつが良いと思います。
These are ear plugs which were brought from Japan. Washable ones will be better.
⑥スポーツ飲料（ポカリスェット、アクエリアスなど）やOS-1など
個人的には人類の歴史は感染症との戦いだと思います。しかし現代の日本では、食べ物による食中毒は稀です。一方でアフリカなどではそうではありません。感染性胃腸炎の際などにスポーツ飲料は非常に役に立ちます。砂糖と塩はどこでも手に入ると思うので、自分で作ろうと思えば作ることもできますね。
⑥Drinks for sports or OS-1
Human history is to fight against infection with some bacteria or virus. But it is not usual to get an infection from food. On the other hand, infectious disease from foods is more common in Japan. It is very good for your body to have drinks for sports when we get infection from foods. We can get sugar and salt anywhere in the world. So, we can make the water for sports.
こちらにはアクエリアスのような味の飲み物は無いので、美味しいです。
Because there’s no drink like AQUARIUS here, it tastes very good.
⑦味噌汁、お吸い物、ふりかけ、お菓子などの日本食
何人かの友人に持って行った方が良いと言われて、半信半疑で粉末の味噌汁などを持ってきたのですが。日本食が少しあるだけで本当に助かります。日本にいる時はそこまで味噌汁が重要なものと認識していなかったですが、本当に美味しいです。心が整います。
やはり日本人なんですね（笑)
⑦Japanese food such as Miso od Dashi soup, foods for rice, Japanese snack, etc.
Some of my friends told me that it is better to bring some Japanese foods such as instant powder miso soup. So, I bought them with some doubts. But a little Japanese food could help me a lot. When I was in Japan, I did not regard miso soup as an important food. But it’s so delicious. It makes me so happy and I am satisfied with it.
I can know I am Japanese.
日本のスーパーが無い国も多いと思いますが、中華系スーパーは多くの国にあると思うので我々、日本人にとって非常に重要です。
Only a few countries have Japanese supermarkets. But there are Chinese supermarkets in many countries. So, they are very important for us (Japanese people).
多くのことが思い通りにならないのが、途上国です。日本から持っていったもので、生活の質が上がると良いなと思います。また何か思いついたら、投稿したいと思います。
A lot of things will not be alright in developing countries. Then your life will be better with things you brought from Japan. When I think of other things to bring, I will post again.
