西部へ行こう
Go West
少し前になりますが、ルワンダの西部へ行ってきました。初めてのルワンダ西部でした。
I went to the west region of Rwanda a little before. It was the first time to visit the west region.
キガリから西部のカロンギという街まではバスで4～5時間ほどかかります。とにかく道路がガタガタで大変でした。
It takes 4～5 hours to Karongi (west region of Rwanda) from Kigali by bus. The road to Karongi was unstable and it was very hard to get there.
カロンギまでの道の途中です。このような未舗装の道が1時間ほど続きます。
This is the road on the way to Karongi. The dirt road like this lasted for about 1 hour.
このような道はアフリカンマッサージと言われることがあるそうです。やはりけっこう疲れます。
Some people call the road like this African massage. This massage made me tired.
一時間ほどのガタガタな道を過ぎたあと、舗装された通常の道を走ると違和感を覚えました。なんか滑っているんではないかと。改めて日本の道路は素晴らしいことに気づきました。
After passing the unpaved road, I felt uncomfortable with the paved ordinary road. Probably we were slipping. I could realize that roads in Japan are absolutely great once again.
また、しばらく体が揺れているように感じました。揺れたフェリーに乗った後も同じようでした。慣れてしまうんでしょうね。
And it was very difficult to keep my balance. I had a similar experience after I got on the rocking ferry before. Maybe I got used to it.
ルワンダの西の隣国はコンゴ民主共和国（旧ザイール）で国境の大部分はキブ湖という湖になります（写真左）。
Western neighboring country of Rwanda is the Congo republic (former Zaire) and a large part of the border is a lake called Kivu (left on the picture).
キブ湖の写真です。どこか日本の風景に似ているように感じました。
This is lake Kivu. The scenery was like Japan.
夕焼けのキブ湖です。キレイですね。

東西ルワンダ横断はとてもおもしろかったです。
It was a lot of fun to cross Rwanda east to west.
