This Term Is Over 今学期終了
昨日(12/23)で初めての学期が終わりました。
先週、今週と授業はなく、採点と通知表(Reportと言います)の作成でした。通知表は点数と順位が書かれています。
This term finished yesterday(23rd December). There were no classes last week and this week. Then teachers checked the exams and made reports. The reports are written student’s rank and marks.

昨日は終業式の様な感じの集会が行われました。
There was a ceremony such as term ending ceremony yesterday.
保護者が参加しているということが日本との違いでしょうか。

今日から1/8までは休みになります。冬休みではない(冬ではない)ので、何と言うのでしょうか。授業が毎日あるとはいえ、まだまだ生徒とコミュニケーション不足なので、新学期が楽しみです。
Now it is vacation time until 8th January. It is not winter vacation because there is no winter. And what should I say it? Though I have classes everyday, I could not still communicate with my students enough. So I am looking forward to seeing them next term.

It is very silent during vacation because we have too many students every day.
同僚によると、ルワンダはキリスト教徒が多いので、クリスマスは教会に行ったり、家族で特別なお食事(お肉と言ってました)をしたりするそうです。暖かいクリスマスも何だか不思議な感じがします。
I asked my colleague about Christmas. Since we have a lot of Christian in Rwanda, some people will go to church and others will spend with family to eat the special foods such as meat. It is something strange for me that Christmas is warm period.
