今回は cease-fire /ˈsiːs.faɪr/ に注目します。
Cambridge Dictionary では "an agreement, usually between two armies, to stop fighting in order to allow discussions about peace:" と定義されており, 『ジーニアス英和辞典』では「〘軍〙停戦, 休戦（truce）: 戦闘中止；撃ち方止めの号令」と記載されています。
停戦の類義語としては truce や armistice があげられます。過去ブログにもたびたび見られることから, いつの時代も戦争関連のニュースが蔓延っていたことが窺えます。悲しいものです。
当記事では今回の海峡封鎖について, 「米国を刺激することを避けつつ, イラン側と直接交渉すること」が日本が取れる海峡封鎖解除の最も効果的な方法だと述べられています。
