The development of high quality metal grinding disc in the grinding industry is obvious to all. However, for the selection and installation of the grinding wheel, there may not be much understanding. For the selection of the grinding wheel for installation, the following suggestions are given, hoping to help the consumers.

      1. Identification and selection of high quality metal grinding disc

The shape and size of the grinding wheel are mainly selected according to the conditions of the grinding machine, the shape of the workpiece, the nature of the material, and the like. Generally, the appearance and crack identification are still needed after the selected grinding wheel, but sometimes the crack is not easy to observe inside high quality metal grinding disc, then the sounding test method is used, such as tapping the sound with a wooden mallet, and the sound is clear and the good grinding wheel without cracks.

As for the selection of the grinding wheel, it should be considered comprehensively. When considering the size, generally, the outer diameter should be selected as large as possible; when grinding, the wider grinding wheel should be used; when grinding the inner circle, the outer diameter of high quality metal grinding disc should be 2 /3 or so. It should be noted that the line speed when the grinding wheel is used must not exceed the value indicated.

      2. Balance and installation of the grinding wheel

Unbalanced grinding wheels will vibrate at idle speed, affecting the quality of the machining and the accuracy of the machine. Seriously, high quality metal grinding disc will break and endanger the safety of people and equipment. The cause of the imbalance is mainly the uneven density of the grinding wheel parts, the asymmetrical geometry, and the installation eccentricity. Therefore, the grinding wheel must be balanced before installation.

The balance of high quality metal grinding disc has two types: static balance and dynamic balance: in general, only static balance is required; and in high-speed grinding and high-precision grinding, a dynamic balance must be performed. For large-diameter grinding wheels, after using for a period of time, there is a possibility of imbalance due to the wear of the grinding wheel, and it is necessary to balance again.
