#JYP #Jun_K #2PM #준케이 #ThinkAboutYou 악기와 작곡악기를 다룰 줄 몰라도 작곡을 할 수 있나? 그렇다. 특히 2000년대에 들어서면서 반주를 먼저 만들어놓고 그 위에 멜로디와 가사를 붙이는 작곡 방법이 대중화되면서 뮤지션들이 만들어놓은 반주만 있으면 누구나 작곡을 할 수 있게 됐다. 이런 과정을 Toplining, 이런 사람을 Topliner라고 부른다. 그러나 이런 작업의 단점은 작곡의 3요소인 멜로디, 화성, 리듬 중에 화성과 리듬 2가지가 정해져 있는 상태에서 작업을 해야한다는 것이다. 그러나 자기 자신이 악기를 다룰 수 있으면 처음부터 아무 제한 없이 작곡을 해나갈 수 있기 때문에 작곡의 폭이 훨씬 넓어지고 작곡가로서의 수명도 길어진다. 이런 과정을 우린 Composing, 이런 사람을 Composer라고 부른다.내가 준케이의 일본공연에 가서 가장 놀랐던 건 그의 피아노 실력이었다. 피아노를 칠 줄 안다는 건 알았지만 그 정도로 잘 치는 줄은 몰랐다. 그는 Topliner가 아닌 Composer였고 이런 그의 실력은 솔로 앨범을 통해 더욱 드러난 것 같다. 이번 그의 앨범은 음악적으로 실험적이고 재밌는 곡들로 채워졌고 대중성을 떠나 그가 어떤 아티스트인지 알릴 수 있는 좋은 기회가 될 것으로 확신한다. 오늘 밤 12시 다같이 들어봅시다.Instrument & ComposingCan you write music even if you can’t play an instrument? The answer is yes. Especially from the 2000's, writing melody and lyrics on a pre-made track became a popular way of songwriting anybody can write music as long as they have a musician who can make them a track. We call this "Toplining" and these people "Topliners". But, the downfall of this method is that out of the 3 aspects of songwriting (melody, chords, and rhythm), two are already predetermined. Therefore, if a songwriter learns how to play an instrument, he/she may be able to start a song from scratch without any predetermined barriers. This will not only give the writer more creative freedom but also extend his longevity as a songwriter. We call this "Composing" and call these people "Composers". When I attended Jun.K's concert in Japan, I was the most impressed with his piano skills. I knew he was able to play piano but I didn't know he was that good. That's when I realized he wasn't just a topliner but instead he was a true composer and this solo album truly shows it.Jun.K's solo album is filled with experimental sounds and ideas.
