Hi, it's been a while. I'm back with a new update!
I finally moved into my dorm room!!
It was a long path...first I wasn't sure if I could receive my student VISA, next all foreigners were almost not even able to enter the US, and then the school was almost closed for the fall semester...but here I am, settled myself in my new room!
Since the college decided to go online as possible as it can, almost every student had to stay at home and learn from there besides a few expectations. And I was able to remain at the campus since I am an international student. Yes, it is the campus is lonely and so our rooms since it became all single-rooms. However, I am so grateful to gain my college experience in Michigan's beautiful weather.
Some other schools are already reporting COVID-19 cases. Even though I was expecting this would happen at some point soon or later, it hits me kind of hard...
It's been almost one month since I came back to the states, and I realized that I do not see many people washing their hands constantly even though it is recommended to do so.
When I was in Japan, I washed my hands everywhere I go no matter I would be with someone or all by myself. On the other hand, many Americans do use sanitization goods, but still don't wash their hands. I found this as a major difference between Japan and America. Furthermore, most Americans do not take a shower every day before going to bed, and so it might have something to do with different numbers of COVID-19 patients.
I can't tell what's better because I'm not a doctor, though, it is always better to stay safe and especially when it's a just little change you can make, it is worth a try.

大学の入学準備や諸々でしばらくバタバタしていましたが、ようやく入寮完了しました！
ここまでくるのに本当に長かった…ビザが下りないかもしれない！ということから始まり、ビザは下りたもののアメリカに外国人は入国できないかもしれない！に続き、アメリカまでやっとこさ来たものの学校がすべてオンライン授業にするかもしれないからキャンパスが開かないかもしれない！という事態を切り抜けてようやく無事入寮し一段落したところです。
ほとんどの授業がオンライン開催となるので、ほとんどの生徒は引き続き自宅授業を強いられているわけですが、私は海外生ということもあり、数少ない寮の空き部屋に滑り込むことができました。
本来なら１つの部屋を２人でシェアするのがスタンダードなのですが、このご時世ということもあり、私は１つの部屋を１人で贅沢使いしています。普段よりもだいぶ静かなキャンパスは少し寂しくもありますが、ミシガンの素晴らしい気候の中で大学生活をスタートできたことに感謝です。
すでに、アメリカ国内のいくつかの大学ではコロナ感染大学生が報告されています。早かれ遅かれいつかはこうなると思っていてもなんとなく複雑な気持ちですね…
自主隔離期間を含めアメリカに帰ってきて早１ヶ月が経とうとしていますが、１つ気付いたことがあります。
アメリカ人の手を洗う人口の少なさ！定期的に手を洗うことは推奨されてはいるのですが、実際に気にかけている人を多く見かけません。
日本にいた頃は誰といようが、どこにいようが、皮膚が薄くなるまで手を洗うことが当たり前だったのですが、アメリカでは消毒液は使うけれど、手を石鹸で洗うというのはあまり見かけない気がします。
それに加え、多くのアメリカ人は毎日夜寝る前にお風呂に入ることもないので、それもアメリカと日本のコロナ感染者数の違いになにか関係があるのかなと思ったりもします。
私はお医者さんではないのでなにが間違っていて何があっているのを断言することはできませんが、小さな変化で予防できることがあるなら、
コスパ最高、いつやるの？いまでしょ！
