テモテへの手紙第二2:24-26

主のしもべが争ってはいけません。
むしろ、すべての人に優しくし、
よく教え、よく忍耐し、
反対する人たちを柔和に教え導きなさい。
神は、彼らに悔い改めの心を与えて、
真理を悟らせてくださるかもしれません。
悪魔に捕らえられて
思いのままにされている人々でも、
目を覚まして、
その罠を逃れるかもしれません。

主の僕たる者は争わず、
すべての人に柔和に接し、
教えることができ、
よく忍び、
反抗する者を優しく
教え導かねばなりません。
神は彼らを悔い改めさせ、
真理を認識させて
くださるかもしれないのです。
こうして彼らは、
悪魔に生け捕りにされて
その意のままになっていても
いつか目覚めて
その罠から逃れるようになるでしょう。

2Timothy2:24-26
And the Lord's servant
must not quarrel;
instead, he must kind
to everyone, able to teach,
not resentful.
Those who oppose him
he must gently instruct,
in the hope that
God will grant them repentance
leading them to
a knowledge of the truth,
and that
they will come to their senses
and escape
from the trap of the devil,
who has taken them captive
to do his will.
