I've said it before but screw all the stadium crap. Small to Mid sized clubs is where its at. The sound is better, its more personal and you can see the band better. Of course having good ticket numbers and being taller than everyone else not on stage also helps you see better.

Band, etc:

Their current touring look has a very casual, more manly early Kagrra neo-japanesque (or whatever they called it) look to it. Tatsurou injured his foot early on in the set but did a good enough job of things anyway. Whenever I see Miya these days, I am reminded of the Wesley Willis song "Cut The Mullet."

"Get the rat's nest off your head
Get that crazy-ass mother off your skull
Take your ass to the barber shop
Tell the barber that you're sick of looking like an asshole"

If I didn't make it clear, HE HAS A FUCKING MULLET! Anyway, their back drop was pretty rad. It featured a couple weapon carrying Oni surrounding and looking down upon the Mucc logo.

Music, & stuff:

The focus of the music from the show was Shion. Off of it they played:

suion
fukurou no yurikago
nuritsubusu nara enji
semishigure
shion
shiva
fuzz
libra
flight (plus a couple others)

Off Gokusai they played:

utagoe
ryusei

Off Zekuu they played:

bozenjishitsu
ranchuu

Others:

na mo naki yume
suimin
kare ga shinda hi
And one of the classics from off Tsuuzetsu with a title I can never remember. It makes me want to dress up like a pirate whenever I hear it.

Audience:

Headbanging, crowd surfing and even a short lived mosh pit or two. This is all concert going practices I understand. None of that gay dance with the hands Sid/Phantasmagoria crap. I felt sorry for the girls in front of me though. I weigh twice what they do, and I kept getting slammed into them. Also my head seemed to be a magnet for crowd surfers' boots and one girl landed boob first on top of my head. That could not have felt good. While headbanging, Japanese girls seem to like to have something to hold on to, for some unfathomable reason. The rail in front of them, a chair if one is available, ME if one isn't. Maybe they are afraid they will lose their balance without something to hold?

After the show we met one of the girls using me for balance. Turns out she was buying one of the extra tickets Mikarin had. She seemed like a nice enough young lady. Then a couple guys came up to me to comment on my shirt. I was wearing my LEMONed I Scream Memorial t-shirt. They asked if I was at the memorial, then mentioned that they got to go the X-Japan reunion shows but didn't have the money to make it up to Tokyo for the hide Memorial Summit. They said that was the first time the got to do the X jump, Miki mentioned the last time she did it had been a long time ago. etc etc.
