You know what I really hate about this town?
To be honest everything. But especially the freeways!
Why does Texas feel the need to have access roads for their Highway system? The end result is overcrowding of the roads because every mediocre national and regional chain that middle America loves is jammed along the access road. This way you can drive down the major road of any Texas city, town, or suburb without feeling like you ever left the one you came from.
It's all the freaking same!
Want to go to Chili's, Applebees, Johnny Carinos, El Chicos, Outback, etc for lunch? Well you are in luck! They are everywhere. And sadly enough in the smaller cities, they are just about the only food you can get. Anyway, don't forget to drive like an idiot right in front of me while you are getting ready to exit to enjoy your favorite chain family restaurant. And if you have the time to spare, slow down traffic too.
Ok, so I guess that is something I hate about Texas as a whole, not just Dallas. On a related note, why does Dallas have to make their freeway system so needlessly complicated? Its like their city government got together and decided to prove they are a big city by spending tax dollars on overpasses to pass over overpasses with exit and entrance ramps leading to other overpasses. Oh yeah, and don't forget the access roads!
One last thing about Dallas. Why is it so spread out? Its not like LA either. In LA everything you need is within 5 miles of your house but the metro LA area goes on for miles. Dallas goes on and on and on but everything is 20 miles away from everything else. What is in between point A and point B you ask? Nothing worth your time. I should really stop thinking about this, unless I want to give myself high blood pressure.
Okay, on to smaller and better things now. One of the bands playing tonight will be +D'espairsRay+, another band from Japan. What do I know about them? Well, based on two releases I have heard from 2001 and 2002 with a grand total of seven tracks between the two CDs, I know that they are rather heavy. Why do they spell their name with a ' and a couple +s? Because they are Japanese and that is the cool thing to do over there.
*news flash Miki says she thinks they dropped the plus signs from their band name. I hope so*
