アラン本人が選曲した2枚組ベストで、1982年から1993年までのソロ・アルバム11枚からまんべんなくセレクト。彼を知るに至ったのは、渡辺香津美の『The Spice Of Life』。影響を受けているとされたビル・ブラッフォードの『One Of A Kind』を聴いて、アランの存在をちゃんと知ったなぁ。シンタックスってヘンテコなギターシンセを使ってた人、在籍したバンド活動で長続きしない人って印象。その変態かつ神業なフレイジングや音に「孤高のギタリスト」を感じるね。変拍子万歳！
