I got my motorcycle at last. They delivered it today. It is raining! I rode it anyway! Super fun!

I will explain generally how I got my bike. In December, I went into Kobayashi Motors and asked them I had them make me a quote for the bikes that I was interested and the options I wanted on it (USB, ETC, and drive recorder). Mr. Kobayashi (owner of shop) gave me a print out which I took home. After I got my large motorcycle at last and figured out my finances, my wife and I went to the shop in January and said we wanted to buy the bike with a credit card (we wanted Rakuten points). Sadly, the credit card option was not available because they only accepted cash or a loan for motorcycle payments. We said we will purchase it by cash later and give them the number for our car insurance company so they could send a fax of the bike inspection certificate so I can get insurance. I went back to the shop 2 days later and gave them the full payment for the bike. I got a call a day later telling me that they sent the inspection certificate and I would get plates that week and they were still waiting for some of the part that I wanted added to the bike. My wife was taking care of my insurance because we were getting insurance through the company she works at, so she was notified about my inspection and license plate number. Last Sunday, he called again and told me that he got the parts at last (drive recorder) and that it would be ready probably by Tuesday or Wednesday. I didn’t get a call Tuesday and during the day on Wednesday so we decided to walk to the shop to ask when the bike would be ready so we could set the starting date for the insurance. By funny coincidence we, arrived at the door of the shop just as Mr. Kobayashi was calling me to tell me my bike was ready. He showed me the bike and explained everything for me (drive recorder, indicators, etc.). He then asked me how I wanted to receive the bike (I couldn’t ride it then because I didn’t have my helmet and stuff). I asked him to deliver it to me today. My wife was talking to his wife and, because I hadn’t bought a bike lock yet, they gave me a lock for free! We went to buy a bike cover at a local car good store. Today, one of the staff came with a huge white van and dropped off the bike. He gave me my documents, coupons for maintenance and oil change, box for the drive recorder, and a nice blue Yamaha t-shirt (my bike is Suzuki though). I then moved my bike to the parking spot and checked it out. I decided to take it for a ride and fill the gas even though it was raining. It was fun and surprisingly not as scary as I thought. I will probably be riding it again tomorrow afternoon because it should be sunny!

I went to the driving school and did the whole routine again (previous blog explains) and just slept as I waited.  Tons of high school students getting tested and lessons.  I went to the washroom around 10:30 and when I got out the other large bike testee (17 year old guy who I last took a lesson with) was with our tester (same as previous tester). We were both doing course A. We all went out to the bikes and got ready.  The kid went first and did fine. I went next and kept telling myself that I really wanted to ride. I did the bridge quick and gave up on the 10 seconds. After I finished the tester told us what we needed to be careful about and told us to wait. I knew that we both passed because we weren't told to go book our next class. Yes!

We waited until we were called to collect our documents and told about what we needed to do next. Strangely we also received a can of Red Bull. I will probably go to change my license on Monday. At last!
