― 「BOW AND ARROW」のMVでは羽生結弦さんとのコラボが実現しました。
ショートプログラムの構成によるスケーティングは、楽曲と『メダリスト』へのリスペクトを感じさせるものでしたが、コラボを振り返ってどんな思いがありますか？
For the MV of “BOW AND ARROW”, you collaborated with
Hanyu Yuzuru-san.
The skating with the short programme elements gives us an image of a tribute to the song and the anime “Medallist”, how do you feel about the collaboration？
ダメで元々の心づもりでオファーをしたので、出演してもらえることになったという一報を聞いた時とても驚いたのを憶えています。
羽生さんがやりやすい形でやってもらいたかったので、出演にあたってこちらからの要望は必要最低限に留めたのですが、原曲にも原作にもとことんリスペクトを込め、なおかつ巨大な厳しさを自分に向けながら滑るさまは圧倒的と言わざるを得ず、思うにああいう人こそが世界で一番をとるのでしょう。
ブレードが氷を削る鈍い音、照明に照らされて透き通る白い息、およそ人間が到達しうるとは思えない回転の速度、なのにおとぎ話やゆめまぼろしなんかじゃなく確かに質量をもってそこにいるのが不思議でなりませんでした。
多分あの光景は走馬灯に映ると思います。
I thought the offer would not be accepted so that when I heard he accepted to perform, I remember it was a big surprise.
I wanted Hanyu-san to skate in his own way, so that I kept my requests to a minimum.
However, he skated utmost respect for the original song and anime work, and with a huge strictness directed towards himself, it was overwhelming, and I think he stood at the summit of the world because he’s such a person.
The thuds of the blade scraping the ice, the clear white breath illuminated by the lights and the rotating speed which no one can believe that a human can reach, yet, he was there with a real mass, not a fairy tale nor a dream, it was truly mysterious for me.
I think all those scenes will remain in my mind.

以前 韻を踏んでいる歌詞に
驚きってブログに書いたけど

And many weeks ago Sarah wrote that
the lyrics is amazingly rhyming, and
in the interview, Yonezu explained why.
― この曲の歌詞はかなり韻を踏んでいますよね。
Aメロから「靴は汚れ」「雨」「夢」「ソワレ」と「e」の音で韻を踏んでいる。
サビでは「行け 行け 追いつけない速度で」と、やはり「e」の音で韻を踏んでいる。
「e」の音が持つ推進力みたいなものが全編にある感じがしたんですが、ここにはどういう意図がありましたか？
The lyrics of this song thyme quite a lot. From the A-melody, “Kutu wa yogore (shoes are dirty), “Ame (rain)”, “Yume (dream)”…, in the chorus too, rhyme with “e” sound.
I felt as if the whole song had the IMPULSE of the “e” sound, what was your intention？
自分の中で重要な一節を浮かび上がらせるために、それ以外を全部「e」にするということを考えました。
「きっとこの時を感じる為に生まれてきたんだ」と「きっと君の眩しさに誰もが気づくだろう」という、このフレーズに焦点を当てる意図はありましたね。
韻を執拗に踏むことで弓を構えて引くような緊張状態を作って、「生まれてきたんだ」で解放するという。
To highlight the important passage, I decided to make other phrases ending with “e”.
I intended to focus on the phrases of “no doubt it was to feel this moment that you were born” and “everyone should surely take notice of your radiance”.
By persistently rhyming, I tried to create a state of tension like drawing a bow, and then release it with “Umarete kitanda (you were born)”.
