MC「ゆづ、どんな人ですか？」
MC “What kind of a guy, Yuzu is?”
上田「もうね、あの、羽生選手はあのままの人です。ひょっとしたらどこかで、見せてない・・なんか、もやもやっとしたところはあるかもしれないけど、決して僕らの前でも、誰の前でも見せないですし、常に前を向こうとしていて、う～もうなんか、羽が見えない天使みたいな人って僕は思ってますね。」
Ueda “Well, he is how he is as you see. Maybe, somewhere, behind us there might be, well, another face he doesn’t show us though, whatever he’s always trying to look forward, and what to say, I think he’s an angle hiding his wings.”
MC「やっぱ僕の印象では孤高のカリスマみたいな感じを受けますけどもそういうこう・・・」

上田「あ、孤高ではないです。（孤高ではないんですか？）お茶目です。なんかね、なんかの小道具でダースベイダーの小道具とかがあって、えっと、ライトセーバーがあったりすると、もう裏に入ったら、連れてきている子供たちがいるんですけどね、（ビュンビュンやるんですか？）う～んその子供達とかと一緒に、もうビュンビュン遊んだりとかして、同じような感じで遊んで。」

上田「はい、やっぱり、人が沢山入って、簡易ですから、何ていうのかな、ショーをやるためのアイスリンクだから、元々は体育館だったりするわけじゃないですか。そこにね氷を作るための機械を張ってということだから。ちょっと溶けてたり剥げてたりというところが、どっかで、あるんですよ。なんですけど、そこで例えば４回転ジャンプを最後、やってみるとかっていった時に、当然コンディション、あんまりよくなかったりしますし、当然、ショーが終わった後で疲れているから、ころんじゃったりもするじゃないですか。真剣に悔しがるんですよ。その悔しがり方は４回転を跳べなかったという悔しがりかたと共にアイスショーを見に来てくれた人たちは、僕の４回転見たいんだよね、その人に見せられないということが悔しいって、あ～跳べなかったって、普通だったら怪我も怖いですし、僕としては止めてもらいたいんです。もう、「あ～残念でしたね」って終わりたいんだけど、もう一回やろうとしたりとかするんです。もうねぇ、ちょっと涙が出そうになりますよ。」
