去年の豪雨で大きな被害を受けた箱根仙石原、心配したけど・・ミズバショウ
元気そうでほっとした～！
Last year, in the wetland, named “Sengokuhara” in Mt. Hakone, they got damages due to heavy rains, it took months to recover though, now many wetland plants are flowering, and so as Asian Skunk Cabbage (Lysichiton camtschatcensis)
ちょっと前にお写真を紹介させてもらったウラシマソウやムサシアブミと同じように、
ミズバショウもサトイモ科の植物で、やっぱり白い部分はなんちゃって花びら！
Last month, Sarah posted some photos of Cobra Lilies, same as them, this one is also a plant of Araceae (Arum) family, so, the white part is not actually a petal
この芯のような部分の粒々の1つ1つが本物のお花
Flowers are these small projection on the centre part
Although it got a name of “skunk” actually Asian Skunk Cabbages are fragrant
リュウキンカ Marsh-marigold
昨日もチラリと登場した、箱根桜（マメザクラ）
HakoneZakura (Prunus incisa)
お花の大きさは、普通のサクラの半分ほど
Its flower size is about a half of normal Sakura flowers
チビさんたちだけど、寒さに強いから、富士山でも育っていて、そっちはフジザクラって呼ばれている
in Mt. Fuji too, the same variety of Sakura is growing, we call them “FujiZakura”, since this type of Sakura is resistant to cold weather
