そもそもカーター・ファミリーの原型は、A.P.＆セイラのカーター夫妻に
従妹のメイベルが加わったトリオでした。
１９４３年に引退後、従妹のメイベルにその娘ヘレン、ジューン、アニタを加えて
ファミリーを継承しました。
ジューンは後にジョニー･キャッシュの奥様となりますね。
本トリビュート・アルバムはそのジューン・カーター・キャッシュの長男である
ジョン・カーター・キャッシュが担当しています。
どのヴァージョンも素晴らしいですが、
やっぱりジョニー･キャッシュの「Engine One-Forty-Three」、
そして、ガット・ギター１本で唄うウィリー･ネルスンの「You Are My Flower」、
ロザンヌ・キャッシュの「The Winding Stream」
ジューン・カーター・キャッシュの「Hold Fast To The Right」あたりが秀逸ですかね。
ジューン・カーターもジョニーももう亡くなっちゃいました。
