昨日に続きガンズ・アンド・ローゼズです。
今日は1988年リリースのミニアルバム『GN'R LIES』からの大ヒットシングル。

Huluに配信されていた映画「ウォーム・ボディーズ」を観たのですが、その中でツボだったのがこの『Patience』（笑）
この曲がリリースされた当時、MTV等では毎週のようにチャートに昇っていて、かなり印象に残っていた曲。
とにかくMVの印象ばかり強かったのですが、よく考えるとオリジナルメンバーが出ていた最後のMVなのではないかな？
メンバー全員がそれぞれカッコ良かった頃。ではないでしょうか？

以前書いた通りなのですが、まず「ウォーム・ボディーズ」です。2013年公開作品。
ホラー系は苦手なので自ら進んでは観ないのですが（でも最近そうでもなくなってきていて、慣れとはコワイ！と思っている所……いやでも、いかにもなホラーはやっぱり苦手😭）、これはゾンビ恋愛もので心温まる系らしい、との話を聞き付け観たわけです。
結果、面白かった！
そして要所要所、音楽の使われ所が本当にツボで！
ガンズのこの『Patience』は、恋したての主人公イケメンゾンビ君が、好きな相手（人間、本来なら補食）に優しくしているシーンで流れております。

さて肝心の曲の方ですが、この曲は、1988年リリースのミニアルバム『GN'R LIES』からのシングル。
アルバムの本国発売時の正式名は『exclusive the shocking truth GN'R LIES』、ビルボード最高位は2位とのこと。
これは、1986年にリリースされた4曲入りEP『Live?!☆@ Like A Suicide』にアコースティックの新録4曲を加えたもの。
前半の4曲はスタジオ録音に歓声をかぶせた疑似ライブバージョンであり、『Mama Kin』はエアロスミスのカバーであるとのこと。

翌年1989年に『Patience』がシングルカットされ、全米4位を記録するヒットとなりました。
アクセルの口笛から始まるこの曲、ガンズを代表するバラードのひとつかと思います。
最初に皆がイケメンを発揮しているMVを、最後に「ウォーム・ボディーズ」でのシーンを載せますね。
