"Joy To The World" 邦題「もろびとこぞりて」は、
日本でもポピュラーなクリスマス讃美歌である。
教派を問わず、キリスト教徒の間で広く歌われている。
歌詞は聖書を元にワッツが作り、
ヘンデルのオラトリオ『メサイア』の歌詞・And heaven and nature singが
歌の中で繰り返されているが、
5行目と6行目は讃美歌として変則的な曲である
アンテオケに載せて歌うために作られた繰り返しである。
元来は繰り返しの無いコモンミーターの四行詞で、
チューンネーム『ウインチェスターオールド』ではその形で歌われる。

曲はメイソンがヘンデルの『メサイア』の一部を元に編曲したものといわれるが
それは音楽界ではよくある権威の仮借であって、
実際は類似のモチーフはあるもののほぼメイソンのオリジナル曲とみてよい。

最終行から繰り返し部を作成するという操作で
任意のコモンミーター（8,6,8,6）の詞と合わせられる。
