皆さん初めまして、ジュビロ磐田所属のジェイ・ボスロイドです。アメブロを始めました！アメブロを使ってみなさんにJリーグ選手の日常生活や私生活を見せていきたいと思います。Enjoy!
初めての投稿は、僕がどうやって日本にたどり着いたか説明したいと思います。まず僕は日本に来る前、タイ・プレミアリーグでサッカーをしていました。タイでは正直、あまり上手くいかず、サッカーを楽しめていない自分がいました。しかし、タイに行ったことで、今の自分がいると考えています。
タイに移籍して間もない時、自宅がまだ無かったため、僕はホテル暮らしをしていました。ある朝、僕はホテルのロビーでくつろいでいたら、ロビーの反対側からイギリス人に見えるある人が歩いてきました。ちょっと話をしてみると、彼は日本で代理人をやっているアレックス佐原という方でした。すぐに僕はアレックスと日本に引かれてしまい、日本のすべてを知りたいと思いました。これが素晴らしい友情とパートナーシップの始まりでした！
それからアレックスと僕は週に２－３回連絡を取ることになり、１１月に僕の妻ステラと一緒に日本に行くことに決めました。正直、当時は日本のことは何も知らず、映画でみたことがあるだけでした。日本に到着した初日から、僕は恋に落ちました。アレックスに1日でも早く日本に連れてきてくれと頼みました。
翌月、僕はクリスマスのためにイングランドに戻って、日本に行く準備をしていました。その時にはすでに日本の何チームかとミーティングをして、どのチームが僕にとってベストフィットか考えていました。日本に戻り、僕はアレックスの家に泊まらせてもらいました。東京育ちのアレックスは、日本の色々な素晴らしさを見せてくれました。
ある夜、アレックスと一緒に家で映画を見ていた時、突然彼の電話がなり、ジュビロ磐田の名波監督が会いたいと言ってきました。「名波…聞いた事ある名前…」と思いながら、 「OK, いつミーティングする？」 とアレックスに聞いた所、今会いたがってると言われました。
急いで準備をして、東京のあるバーに向かいました。そこで初めて名波監督と会い、１０分だけのミーティングのはずが、話が進み気づかないうちに２時間経っていました！僕はその時、 「俺はジュビロの選手になる」 と決めました。
次の週には鹿児島でジュビロのプリーシーズンを参加していました。
次の更新を火曜日と木曜日にしたいと思います！

GETTING TO JAPAN/JLEAGUE/JUBILO
Going to Thailand was really a waste of a season as far as I'm concerned but I don't really want to talk about the football as I don't really have anything good to say!
But going there did open the door to Japan in a way as that's where I first met my agent Alex Sahara. After a week of being in Thailand, I knew I wanted to leave. I was staying at a hotel close to the training ground, one morning I decided to come down to reception and just chill. As I was sitting there I see this guy walking over, he looked English, we got talking, it turns out he is an agent in Japan. Straight away I was drawn to him. I wanted to know everything about the J-League and he told me. It was the beginning of a friendship and partnership!
By November of that same year, I was talking with Alex probably 3 times per week. We decided that it's best I come to Japan to see what it's actually like so me and my wife Stella did that. I never knew what to actually expect. All I'd really seen of Japan was Lost in Translation and Memoirs of a Geisha. Anyway straight away we loved it and I said to Alex after the first day you need to get me a deal done!
I was in England for Christmas and I was getting ready to come back to Japan as we had meetings with different teams on deciding which one we would sign for. I arrived back in Tokyo and I would stay with Alex. Going around Tokyo with a local, well there's nothing like it! Anyway after many meetings and travelling around the country I chose Jubilo but it was funny how that meeting came about. We was sitting in his house watching a movie, it was about 10pm, his phone kept ringing and I was getting annoyed. He then said Nanami is calling me from Jubilo. I was thinking that name sounds familiar!
Alex came off the phone telling me that he wanted a meeting I was like "OK cool, when?" "NOW!" he said.
So we went and met at this bar in Tokyo and what turned out to be a 10 minute meeting turned into a couple hours. Nanami gave me a great feeling and in that moment I knew I was going to be a Jubilo player!
The next week I was in Kagoshima starting pre season...
