On January 27, 2021, my family and I went to Hakuun-an, a Fucha restaurant in Uji, Kyoto Prefecture. Fucha Cuisine which signifies "To provide the public with tea" is a variation of Japan's Buddhist cuisine. This short trip was took place after my wife who has started getting into Buddhist cuisine uttered "I'd like to go to a Fucha restaurant."

(^^♪ It was raining lightly, but we were glad we didn't feel as cold as we had imagined because of the humidity.

The room we were served was garden view. At this stage, our feeling of "We are in Hakuun-an!" already reached a climax...but this was nothing more than a preface.

Rakugan (Dry confection of starch (e.g. rice, soy or barley flour) and sugar, mixed and pressed into a pattern (*from google translation)) When I was a kid, I saw some be always in our Buddhist altar. At any rate, it's sweet.

<Appetizer> Sume: Soup based on consomme-like clear soup stock. Mafu: A sesame tofu/Gomadofu (The "T" sound of tofu is to be pronounced like "D" because a vocalization occurs between the two nouns of "Goma" and "Tofu"). Rompan: Special seasoned vegetable.

Umpen: Boiled and Yoshino-Kudzu-thickened vegetables.

Shunkan: Simmered seasonal vegetables and dried food on a platter.(Main event #1)

Hintan: Boiled rice (Seasoned). Ensai: Pickles. Soju: Second soup.

Rice for all-you-can-eat! The brown thing in the middle is "Miso".

As you may imagine, my wife paid all for us! Many thanks!

Naturally we visited Mampuku-ji temple which is on the opposite side.

Wife held a rose-color umbrella and daughter held a scarlet umbrella. A warm hue in a monochrome world.

Kaipan (alias Gyoban, really?): There must be a rule that goes "Don't sleep during practice. Emulate fish which are always awake"...Isn' t this too tough? Fish also sleep, and they just sleep with their eyes open (They don't have eyelids from the very first.). Moreover, it is too terrible to hit the fish which is an exampler, isn't it?

While mumbling as above, I paused underneath the Kaipan with a smile.

Hakuun-an is located around here in the Japanese archipelago.
