マニプリの織物

　

マニプリの女性は織物をして家計を助けます。彼らは自分で着るものは自分で織るのですまた刺繍も得意としています。マニプリの手工芸は、その素晴らしい芸術性が高く評価されています。

Weaving is the birth-craft. Every manipuri girl knows weaving. They are largely seft-dependent in matter of dress. They are also expert in the hand embroidery works. Thus, the artistic excellence of the manipuri home-spun clothes has never failed to draw the attention of distinguished personalities and travelers.

店舗について

　現在バングラデシュダッカ中心部のグリーンロードに縫製工房兼店舗があります。

　昨今の渋滞事情の悪化のため、なかなか足を運びずらい状況のため外国人の方々にも多く知っていただこうと2009年より販売会を他の地域でも行ってきました。

　多くの方々に商品を手に取っていただき　喜んでいただけることに感謝しております。

マニプリについて

マニプリ族はメイテイとして知られ、インド、ミャンマーそしてバングラデシュに在住。バングラデシュでは北東部のスリモンゴル地域に多く住んでいます。

　　独自の伝統、マニプリ語、文字を持ち長い歴史のなかで影響を受けながらも独自の文化を守り続けています。特に織物は女性の主なる仕事です。

Manipuri community
They are also known as Meetei/Meitei. The Manipuris are mainly resides in Manipur, which is one of North-Eastern states of India and also in Myanmar and Bangladesh. They have their own tradition, language and script. Since early times, Manipuri women practiced weaving as one of their main occupations and produced enough cloths for domestic use.
