see you again

(ENGLISH VER for you)

In life, we constantly sense things—often without putting them into words.

One day, I went out for lunch with a younger colleague. A‑kun, who had moved to another department, can hold a normal conversation, but somehow he feels a bit like someone from another planet. Whenever I ask him for something, I have to explain it to him as if I were giving instructions to a robot, which is honestly exhausting.

For example, when I say, “Could you get that for me?”, I actually have to translate it into something like:

“By ○○ o’clock, please take yesterday’s document from the set of papers placed next to the table, remove the article we used, and bring that single sheet neatly to my right hand. And please return the materials properly without leaving them scattered, because the next person who needs them will be inconvenienced. Thank you.”

Even then, he responds like a robot: “I’m working on something right now. Do I have to do it at this moment?” So I explain: “No, I said by ○○ o’clock, so it doesn’t have to be now. But showing sincerity by responding promptly and not waiting until the last minute makes a difference in how the person who asked feels. If you show sincerity early, I’ll feel comfortable asking you again next time. I understand your situation, but as a working adult, please try to sense things beyond your own standards and consider the bigger picture.”

I want him to pick up on things that can’t always be fully verbalized.

On the other hand, there’s B‑kun. When I say, “Could you get that?”, he replies:

“Here you go, ○○‑san. You’ll be using this document today, right? Should I also prepare extra copies or gather related materials? And for the afternoon task, will you need similar documents? If there’s anything else I can help with, please let me know.”

With just the abstract phrase “get that,” B‑kun understands exactly what I need. It’s a relief. A single phrase is enough. And he adds humility, initiative, and a sense of teamwork. His attitude makes me straighten my posture. I learn from him, and I’m grateful.

That’s why I want to get along with A‑kun too, but people take time. If you neglect human relationships, they become tiring. So I’ve been avoiding it and letting others handle A‑kun.

Some people think like AI, some think like humans. Everyone has preferences. Maybe AI will eventually force us to change how we deal with these interpersonal frictions.

As humans, in daily life, if we remove emotion, both A‑kun and B‑kun are unnecessary—anyone could “get that.” But as long as I’m still human, I want to work with someone like B‑kun. And with A‑kun, I prefer to interact indirectly.

It’s not about liking or disliking someone. It’s about how much emotional energy it costs. That’s how I make human decisions.

That’s all. See you again.

Good evening, everyone — today I’m greeting you in a Sandwiched‑Man style, since things seem pretty hectic out there.

Maki hit a home run, and it feels like he’s finally getting into his groove.

When he stole second and then third, I honestly thought we were heading for a walk‑off.

From the Yokohama game onward, the flow hasn’t been bad, but extra innings in a short series are unpredictable — you just can’t read the momentum.

Tomorrow, DeNA absolutely cannot afford to lose. They need to finish strong right here.

On a different note, the view count on my Mercari listings and the items I posted as “Ajjin” have started to grow — all thanks to everyone’s support.

Same goes for my blog on note. I truly appreciate it.

From here on, I’ll keep pushing forward, just like DeNA aims to make their comeback.

In the end, it really comes down to people. When I look back on life, I’m reminded that no human can live alone. Society, family, daily life—everything is sustained by countless people whose faces we may never see. Some work tough, dirty, or dangerous jobs. Others work through the night. And even if we don’t always notice it, our lives are built on the efforts of those invisible hands.

As humans, I believe we must take the gratitude we feel and turn it into our own form of action—even if no one notices, even if it doesn’t reach anyone directly.

This morning on the Marunouchi Line, I saw a British‑looking couple in their 50s, carrying a huge backpack and a large suitcase. They stood in front of the seats, overwhelmed by the rush of people getting off at Akasaka‑Mitsuke. Someone nearby instinctively called out, “Are you okay?” For a moment, everyone’s eyes turned toward them, but within 1.5 seconds, it all dissolved back into the usual air of the train. The couple followed the flow of people and got off at Akasaka‑Mitsuke.

I used to love the human warmth in moments like that. But now, in the age of generative AI, people rely on ChatGPT for every judgment and decision. “Chappie said this.” “Copilot said that.” And so, more and more robotic humans fill the world.

The other day, when I went to help on a farm, a middle‑aged man arrived around 11:15. When the owner invited him to join lunch with his daughter’s family, he ordered the same expensive 2,200‑yen meal as the owner. I felt hesitant and ordered the 1,900‑yen one. He barely worked, yet ordered without hesitation.

In the afternoon, during packing and other tasks, he kept saying things like: “Should I stop this task and do that instead? I’ll go ask Papa.” “This is fun. As long as everyone becomes happy, that’s all that matters.” Talking to himself, acting alone, like a mechanical robot. It was exhausting.

Anyway—this robotic type of person is everywhere now. It feels like society is shifting toward a status where you’re not supposed to think for yourself. Even my boss proudly says, “Chappie and Copilot said this, so it must be correct.” People who have lived long lives now tap away at their screens, choosing convenience.

Human‑like humans are disappearing. But still—I want to remain human. Because gratitude is something you feel toward people, not machines.

Good evening, everyone (in the style of Nishikigoi).

Ahhh… while listing items on Mercari and writing my blog, I can’t help thinking:

“Just post it on Instagram.”

But if I do that, the fun disappears.

When people chase profit too much, their creativity collapses.

Recently—well, starting today— I’ve been watching lecture videos from the University of Tokyo.

While selling my products, I genuinely look forward to meeting each customer.

To be honest, the real joy of doing business isn’t the profit— it’s the chance to meet all kinds of people. That’s the true essence of commerce.

Good evening, everyone.

When people hear the word “diet,” they often react with, “Wait… does that mean I’m fat?” Men usually say, “No, of course not,” but somehow the whole situation still feels awkward.

A diet isn’t about being fat. It’s often about feeling unhealthy, or noticing signs of aging in your appearance.

People tend to come up with all kinds of reasons, and some media—like certain TV stations—push misleading or exaggerated “scientific” diet trends that pressure people into unhealthy behavior. We should really avoid that kind of manipulation.

Human bodies change depending on the environment we’re in. Rather than “going on a diet,” what truly matters is adjusting your lifestyle based on what shows up in your health check results.

For example, telling someone who can’t sweat easily to “go to a sauna” is unreasonable. If you want to start improving your health in an enjoyable way, begin by gradually changing what you eat.

As Dr. Kayoko Takahashi said, simply being able to eat is already something admirable. But to live healthily, we should at least eat vegetables and feel the weight and substance of real food.

Back to the topic of dieting: Use all five senses to enjoy different flavors, focus on eating, and learn to distinguish between the nutrients you need and the ones you should limit.

For example, my cholesterol level is high, so I try to avoid greasy foods and drink tea before and after meals. I also make an effort to eat more dietary fiber and fermented foods.

Everyone should design their own eating habits in a way that is enjoyable and sustainable.

Fear &Greed index
