opinion（オピニオン）は「意見」の意味だけじゃないよ

日本で受験とかで勉強した英単語が実は意外な感じで日常会話に登場したりします。
Opinion（オピニオン）＝意見
日本の受験とかの英語では
I agree with your opinion.（君の意見に賛成だ）
とかいう形ででてきそうです。（勝手な妄想）
日本語で意見っていうとなんだか堅い感じ？
だれだれの意見。
突然ですが、日本語で
｢私は彼のことあんまりよく思ってない｣
とかいいますね
悪口？！Σ(ﾟдﾟ;)
上の日本語を「Opinion」を使って表現できるんです～
英語では
｢私は彼のことあまり良く思ってない｣＝I don't have a good opinion of him.
｢Opinion of 誰だれ｣ って結構聞く表現です。
英語で「Opinion」というと
Opinion ≒ 好きの具合
という表現ができます。
で
I don't have a good opinion of him.＝｢私は彼のことあまり良く思ってない｣
といえます。
色々なところでよく聞きます。
Opinion ≒ 自分の好きの具合
なので、それが高いか低いかで好き具合を表現できます。
例えば：
My opinion of him is low.
（あんまり彼のこと良く思ってない。）
受験英語もちょっと違う雰囲気で会話に登場したりするんですね。
今となっては「Opinion」は中学英語なのか高校英語なのかも思い出せません。。。。

However, it has other uses too! Like, "I don't have a good opinion of him", or, "my opinion of him is low" when describing someone you don't like. "Opinion" can mean a favorable estimate.
