今日で1歳3ヶ月！初めて髪の毛をカットしました。Today our son turned 1 year and 3 months old and he had his first hair cut.

赤ちゃんブラシを注文できる昭和な雰囲気の床屋さんで優しいおばちゃんにカットしてもらいましたが、ずっとギャン泣き。バリカン仕上げは最後までできず、家に帰ってから、お世話係の母が微調整。耳周りをもうちょっと直さないとね。
We went to a local barber shop were you can order a baby hair brush. It felt like the shop was open since the 70s and a nice older woman cut his hair but he wouldn't stop crying. The barber was not able to finish up with the electric razor so caretaker mom had to try put the finishing touch. I think we still need to fix you up around the ear.

去年の10月の下旬に特別養子縁組の裁判の面談があり、何故特別養子縁組を希望するのかや養育に関する考えなどきかれました。また、国際結婚なので、主人の母国アメリカの養子法も確認する必要があることや、裁判の流れの説明を受けました。養育期間が6ヶ月あり、その間に実親さんの意思の確認や養親としての適切も確認。様々な事情があって子供を産んでも育てられない実親さんと子供に恵まれなかった夫婦が大切な赤ちゃんの命のバトンを受けて守る特別養子縁組の制度。この制度のおかげで、私たち夫婦は、今よく笑う元気いっぱいの息子ちゃんと幸せな毎日を過ごしています。
In late October last year, we had an interview with the investigator for our family court case for our adoption. We were asked questions such as why we wished to adopt and what our thoughts were regarding child rearing. We were provided with a explanation of the court proceedings and were told that we would have to check U.S. adoption laws as well since we are an international couple. In Japan, there is a 6 month probationary period and during that time the wishes of the birth parent and the adequacy of the adoptive couple are confirmed. The special adoption law protects the life of a baby that the birth parent cannot take care of and allows couples like us that were not able to give birth to a child to become a family. Because of this law, we are enjoying every second of our time with our son.
