Yakiniku Buttercream!

Hello everyone!  Lensei here.

I hope everyone is having a great holiday!  Mine started last night, after rehearsal.  
皆さん良い連休をお過ごし下さいね！僕は昨夜、リハーサル後から連休が始まりました。

Recently, I’ve been watching some cake-making shows on TV.  People make so many wonderful cakes...and they always use this amazing substance called "Buttercream."
最近、ケーキを作るテレビ番組を見ていました。皆素晴らしいケーキを作っていて...皆いつも「バタークリーム」という素晴らしいものを使っています。 

I looked up how to make buttercream.  And it’s basically just butter and powdered sugar, mixed for ages!
バタークリームをどうやって作るか調べてみました。そうしたら、ただひたすらバターに砂糖を混ぜ合わせたものなのですね！ 

I can do that!  
それならできる！ 

So I did.   But then I had an idea.  What if I put the buttercream...not on a cake...but on steak?
だから作りました。でもふと思いました。バタークリームをケーキではなく、ステーキに乗せたら...？ 

Operation: Yakiniku Buttercream begins!  
オペレーション：焼肉バタークリームが始まりました！
 

Step 1: Get the meat!
ステップ1：肉を仕入れる！

Done! 

完了！
 

Next step: Get vegetables!
次のステップ：野菜を仕入れる！ 

Step 3: Eat it outdoors!
ステップ3：アウトドアで食す！ 

Many people in Japan are taking trips this holiday week.  But I’m in Tokyo, and we shouldn’t travel to other prefectures.  
日本の多くの人々はこの連休で旅行に行くようです。でも僕は東京にいるので、他県へ行くべきではありません。 

So I’m traveling out to my front garden, for a yakiniku feast!
だから庭へ出て、焼肉祭りをします！ 

It begins slowly...
最初はゆっくり始め... 

...but then things heat up! 
だんだん暑くなります！ 

Finally, the key moment arrives.  
最後は大事な瞬間が訪れます。 

That’s meat...and buttercream!  Sweet and savoury, fat and sugar, two kings of food brought together in one mouthful!
これは肉...とバタークリームです！甘くて風味豊か、脂肪と糖分。一口で2つの食べ物が同時に味わえます。

It was...pretty nice.  Could’ve used some tomato sauce, though.  
とても...美味しかったです。トマトソースを使っても良かったかもしれませんが。 

So I finished the meal off with something more conventional.  Cadbury chocolate dipped in buttercream.  
最後は慣れ親しんだもので食事を終えました。 バタークリームにキャドバリーチョコレートをディップ。

Delicious.  
美味しい。 

Don’t worry - just before this meal I’d done a big workout with a class via Zoom.  This new world is amazing!  (But also sweaty.)
心配しないでください。この食事の前にZoomで厳しいトレーニングのクラスに参加しましたから。この新しい世界は素晴らしい！（汗だくにもなるけど） 

This concludes Operation: Yakiniku Buttercream.  I hope everyone has a lovely holiday, whether they’re traveling to a different city or traveling to a different room.  We can all still peacefully enjoy our time.
