"Metropolis" Sound Design
I am a fan of silent movies, including the brilliant science fictionfilm "Metropolis" by Frtiz Lang. For the module "Media Arts Practice"on the Sonic Arts course at Middlesex, I was given a choice of videosand text to create soundtracks for. Among the choices were three clipsfrom "Metropolis".
Below are the video clips with thesoundtracks that I created for them. I took a different approach toeach one, my favourite being the scene where the robot awakes as Icreated all the sounds for that scene on a Doepfer A-100 analog modularsynthesiser.
