この曲は1966年グラミー賞レコード・オブ・ザ・イヤー（Record of the Year）を獲得。
元々はクロアチアでの音楽祭のために作曲された曲で、ドイツの音楽家ベルト・ケンプフェルト（Bert Kaempfert/1923–1980) によってシナトラ向けに編曲された。
ある夜に出会った初対面の男女が恋に落ちるまでのロマンスを描いた曲。

この曲は、娘ナンシーとのデュエット曲
60年代のフォーク・シンガー、カーソン・パークス（Carson Parks）が作詞・作曲。
今日はシナトラ版に加えて、2001年のロビー・ウィリアムズ（ Robbie Williams）とニコール・キッドマン（Nicole Kidman）のデュエットも併せて聴いてみる。
まさに、大人のお洒落な曲！
