As the film came to an end, yet again there was so much liberty for personal interpretation, a quality that I have noticed even when watching “Mulhollad drive.

The suspense and mystery, the questions that are evoked lingering even after I watch the film are most of the time never solved in my mind.
"Who was that woman?"
"What happened to him?"
The story takes a twist and turn in ways you have never expected, and there is so much anticipation in what may happen next since there is nothing “cliché “about it.
Madness and craziness slipping into the settings of real life, makes it look as if the characters are drifting or transported from dream to reality and back to a dream again, going back and forth....shifting and merging.
Some of the other intriguing aspects I love is the "look" of it.
In the beginning of Lost highway, when you are in the couples house for example, you see a table which cuts diagonal with the lamp facing downwards which is apparently made by Lynch him self. The lighting is done with some bright strong colors, which are intense, beautifully maintaining the darkness that is so pervasive thought out. I love the colors that come in when the husband finishes his saxophone gig, and goes to the telephone box. The editing from that scene to when he is climbing up the stairs in his own house is stunning because of the gradated change from red to yellow.
Even on the day when he comes back from a party which he has attended with his wife, there is a scene where he walks into the dark smoky opening of his wall which is both eerie and beautiful in color.
Characters show us vividly strong images related to sex and violence are surreal and dream like. I love the close-ups when they are involved in sex , and brutality.
I find the sex and violence to be both something, which is sensual (close to skin)experience, and that pain and pleasure both are not only visually compelling but extends into something emotional as well.
I even think that the scene where he plays the sax(I love the strange music used in that scene)does have a sensual quality to it.
Transformation from one character to another was a exciting so much of an exciting aspect f the film which had took place in a cell after the husband was caught for murder. Although it was definitely spooky as one of the guards had mentioned, I was amazed how creatively bizarre Lynch was allowed, or allowed himself to be.

One thing that I found a little funny was the way the white-faced, wide eyed mans face had emerged on the wife's face and looked like that character from Starwars for a spit second.

This man who the husband meets at the party, claiming to be in his house at the same time is a character we simply cannot miss.(The grin that white-faced man has is so creepy!)I really don't know what may be said about him because there is again too much that is kept in the dark.
But nevertheless the impact he has and the constant appearance through out the film makes it me wonder if he may be the one who knows everything about the story, and knows what really is going on.
