現在アメリカで鍼灸治療を受けている人口は、全体の約１％。。。
Acupunctureを知らない人もいますね。
「針を刺すの？ えー、痛そう。」 針というと、注射針を想像されてしまったり。
注射針より、極細で弾力性もあるんですが、「痛い」という固定観念が崩れないと先に進めない。
あとは、「古い」、「分からない」ですかね。
鍼灸・中医学は毎日の生活に役立つ医療という事を紹介するのが、リサさんが現在取り組んでいる
インディペンデントフィルム！
さまざまな代替補完療法を利用する人は毎年増加の一歩を辿る中、一般の鍼灸の認知度・利用頻度は
まだまだ低め。
ニューヨークの大学・病院では、統合医療の一環として鍼灸治療のリサーチが積極的に行われています。
例えば、コロンビア大学、ニューヨーク大学、アルバート・アイゼンスタイン大学病院、
ベス・イスラエル病院、スローン・ケタリング病院など。
日本では、鍼を知らない人は少ないと思いますが、鍼灸治療に対する一般の人の理解はどうでしょう？

Dear Colleagues:
I want to encourage you to take a look at the slide show for the film I'm producing:
The purpose of this film is to educate the mainstream public about Chinese Medicine and to hopefully raise the figure of the number of people who visit an Acupuncturist beyond 1%. I think we can do it.
Special thanks to Jeffrey Yuen, the Yu Wen Clinic and Supervisors, and the class of 2011 for their remarkable "moments on film" this summer. I'm working hard to get a clip ready to debut, but there's still at least one more shoot I need to film in the coming weeks. Producing and editing an independent film about Classical Chinese Medicine is proving to be the perfect professional challenge but the camera crew, sound men, and film composer, etc. cost thousands of dollars beyond the 10K I've personally invested. Before I can apply for grants, I need to have a good part of the film "in the can."

PS: The mineral poultices Jeffrey recommended in his recent Santa Fe Cancer Workshop proved to be most effective! Within a half an hour of one application, a patients with excruciating bone pain from LU cancer that had spread, was remarkably better. This is just one more example of the effectiveness of Classical Chinese Medicine I hope to document in the film.
