”SACRAMENTO, June 21 (UPI) -- A Sacramento woman was arrested Tuesday for allegedly killing her infant daughter in a microwave oven, police announced.
Ka Yang, 29, was charged with murder in the March 17 death of 6-week-old Mirabelle Thao-Lo, who suffered unusual burns in an incident at the family home.
"The three month investigation revealed that the child sustained extensive thermal injuries which resulted in her death," Sacramento police said in a written statement. "The unique nature of these injuries required in-depth medical analysis to determine how the burns occurred."
The statement said the baby's injuries were consistent with the only other three documented cases of microwave deaths in the United States. The circumstances surrounding the death were not revealed.
"Normally, we make an arrest within a few days. But in a situation like this where we had to do so much analysis, it took some time for us to piece together," police spokeswoman Laura Peck told The Sacramento Bee.”
要は、生後６週間の娘をレンジでチンして、火傷で殺した母ちゃんが逮捕された、というものだが、
いくら生後６週間といえども、人間が入る電子レンジって、どんだけ大きいんだよ、とか思いながら、しかし、この殺害方法は猟奇的の域をも超えているような。。。
調べてみると、こうした事例は今回が初めてではなく、米国では過去３回ほど立件されているらしい。
ここんところ、暫く、アメリカに比べて日本は・・・とボヤく某ブロガーの記事にウンザリしているんだが、幼児虐待が問題になっている日本でも、さすがにここまでの事例は無い。
社会全体としての健全性、という観点からは、まだまだ米国よりは日本の方がマシだよ、遥かに。
