Migration Guidance

Adoption of the MSFC2 solution is advised for environments that continue to require integrated Layer 3 services. MSFC2 introduces improved processing performance, broader protocol support, and expanded memory options when compared with the original MSFC design.

MSFC2 is compatible with supported supervisor engines and can be deployed as a field upgrade. New Layer 3 implementations should align with the MSFC2-related part numbers defined in the original lifecycle reference material.

Additional Notes

The milestones outlined in this notice support long-term infrastructure planning and platform transition activities. Continued review of official lifecycle policy channels and notification mechanisms is recommended to remain informed of future product status changes.
