Important Notes
StackWise Virtual
When StackWise Virtual is enabled, the platform supports Layer 2 and Layer 3 switching, security, quality of service, multicast, monitoring, MPLS, high availability, VXLAN EVPN, and software‑defined access deployments. Some legacy features may not be supported when StackWise Virtual is enabled.
Unsupported Features
Some features are not supported in this release or on specific hardware configurations, including certain audio and video bridging protocols, older PoE standards, and select IPsec VPN features.
Limitations and Restrictions
This release introduces new multicast forwarding behavior, which may result in slightly different packet delivery patterns in large Layer 2 networks. There are also limitations on the number of supported multicast groups in specific configurations. Please review the detailed limitations section for further information.
Upgrade and Maintenance Information
This release includes procedures for software image installation, ROMMON and programmable logic upgrades, supported downgrade paths, and in‑service software upgrades (ISSU). Ensure that you follow the prescribed upgrade steps to avoid compatibility issues with existing configurations.
