New and Changed Features
Hardware Additions
- The release adds support for the following hardware modules:
- New line cards: N9K-X9636C-R, N9K-X9636C-RX, N9K-X9636Q-R, N9K-X96136YC-R
- New fabric modules: N9K-C9508-FM-R, N9K-C9504-FM-R
Software Enhancements
- Expanded scale monitoring across Layer 2, multicast routing, unicast routing, and VXLAN technology groups.
- Added Traffic Storm Control support on N9K-X96136YC-R line card with N9K-C9504-FM-R fabric module.
- IP ACL enhancements to allow identification of traffic using TCP flags on supported line cards and modules.
Known Behaviors
The following behaviors are observed in this release:
- On select Nexus 9300 and 9500 platforms, changing the 802.1q EtherType on one interface propagates to all interfaces in the same slice but is non-persistent across reloads.
- CLI output formats for
show interface-countersin XML/JSON may include extra characters. - Insecure HTTP and weak TLSv1 protocols are disabled by default for NX-API.
- Only one of IPv4 or IPv6 versions of uRPF commands can be configured on an interface; the other is blocked.
Open Caveats
Known open caveats in this release include limitations around:
- Specific breakout cable and port configurations remain restricted on certain platforms
- Precision Time Protocol (PTP) features are not fully supported on all line cards
- Some platform/feature combinations may have behavioral limitations with FEX, ISSU, or multicast
Resolved Caveats
This release fixes various issues seen in earlier versions, including:
- Bug fixes for resynchronization and stability across routing and forwarding paths
- Accuracy improvements in hardware counters and protocol handling
- Control-plane and feature resilience corrections
