New Hardware Features
- Support for dual-rate 40G/100G QSFP transceivers.
- Expanded breakout capability on select leaf switches.
- 100G breakout support on certain 9300-series platforms.
Installation Notes
- Clear current configuration.
- Power down the switch.
- Install or replace hardware modules.
- Power the switch back on.
Compatibility
- Use only supported optics and transceivers.
- Third-party optics are not qualified.
- FEX and APIC connectivity must follow ACI design rules.
- Disable auto-negotiation for 25G copper links.
Usage Guidelines
- Permit required management and control protocols through contracts.
- Do not connect switches from different ACI fabrics.
- Limit multiple instances of control protocols.
- Fabric reloads may be needed when changing security or FIPS settings.
- 25G links using IEEE-RS-FEC can interoperate with CL16-RS-FEC.
Known Limitations
- Some endpoint configurations are incompatible with static or L2-only bridge domains.
- GARP learning for virtual IPs may need explicit enabling.
- Traffic counters may report inconsistently on certain links.
- vPC or multicast operations may have specific deviations.
Bug Categories
- Traffic drops under certain patterns.
- Inconsistent counters or statistics.
- Unexpected module or node reloads.
- Control-plane or policy enforcement inconsistencies.
