Acer introduced its updated S7 Ultrabooks back at Computex in June, and the company has now put the new systems up for sale on its website. The new S7-392 with battery such as Acer TravelMate 7740 Battery , Acer AS10D31 Battery , Acer Aspire 1825 Battery , Acer UM09F36 Battery , Acer Aspire One 521 Battery , Acer Ferrari One Battery , Acer Ferrari 1100 Battery , Acer GARDA53 Battery , Acer TravelMate 3040 Battery , Acer Aspire One D210 Battery , Acer UM08B74 Battery , Acer UM08B73 Battery configurations mostly notably feature Intel Haswell (or fourth-generation Core) processors, while retaining the high prices of their predecessors.
The S7-391 series was launched late last year, offering Intel's Ivy Bridge CPUs and 4GB of RAM in 11.6-inch and 13.3-inch screen options. Acer has rolled out two new options for the S7-392 thus far, both using the 13.3-inch form factor. They also have their RAM doubled to 8GB.
The S7-392-6832 comes with a Core i5-4200U processor and 128GB solid-state drive, while the S7-392-9890 features a Core i7-4500U CPU and doubles the SSD capacity to 256GB. Both include Gorilla Glass lids, updated keyboards, improved cooling (thanks to Acer's Twin Air Cooling technology), and Wireless Display (WiDi) support. Each version weighs roughly 2.9 pounds and includes a 1,920x1,080 IPS touchscreen, though not the 2,560x1,440 option that was mentioned at Computex.
One thing that hasn't changed much is the pricing. The original S7 Ultrabooks were not cheap to begin with (the 11.6-inch version was the least expensive at $1,199.99), and the new models remain in the range of Apple's MacBook Pro laptops. The 6832 is priced at $1,449.99, and the 9890 costs $1,699.99. In addition to being available on the Acer site, the new S7 notebooks will be sold through retailers like Amazon and Newegg.
