昨年のちょうど今頃、「ミシュランのガイドブックの星の数において東京が世界最多」という話題をブルームバーグ紙が報道しており、この記事には以下のような読者コメントがついている。
・何年も日本で暮らしているが、ここの食べ物の質とバラエティにはいつでも驚かされる。ほとんどお金がかからないような小さい質素な店でも、日本人の完璧主義が表れる。
