Taliban emerged from their hiding places in mountain areas and villages, and swept the entire Afghanistan in a short period of time, ousting and letting the Afghanistan president flee out of the country. Why Taliban could seize Afghanistan so quickly? The answer is simple. Both China and the U.S. wanted it, however, with totally different purposes.

China wants stable peaceful Afghanistan. China have been working together with Pakistan to reconcile Taliban and the Afghanistan government. China promised that she would support and help the reconstruction of Afghanistan by building and investing in infrastructure there. China urged Taliban to break away from ETIM (the East Turkistan Islamic Movement) and to firmly crack down on terrorism to win trust of China. ETIM is an Anglo-American organized and promoted terrorist group the purpose of which is to bring troubles and turmoil to Xinjiang of China just like Mujahideen Afghan fighters did against the Soviet Union under the direction of Zbigniew Brzezinski, US National Security Adviser, back in 1970s. Stable peaceful Afghanistan would be an important asset for China's Belt and Road Initiative which connects China and Europe and makes the surrounding areas prosperous and peaceful. "Pax Sinica", that is.

On the other hand, the U.S. wants chaotic violent Afghanistan and tries to export the chaos and violence into Xinjiang of China. That's the reason why the Biden administration made a decision to abruptly withdraw US troops from Afghanistan. Due to the withdrawal of US forces, Taliban could overwhelm the Afghanistan military and government, which the U.S. had completely anticipated and expected. Although the US forces have withdrawn from Afghanistan, US special forces, intelligence officers and private security companies stay and remain in Afghanistan and they are very much active in trying to organize anti-China terrorist groups and supply weapons to them. It is likely that, in the process of hasty withdrawal, US forces intentionally left behind lots of munitions and equipment all of which fell into hands of anti-China terrorist groups.

[ETIM (the East Turkistan Islamic Movement)]
There is no unified command in Taliban. In Taliban, some factions work with China, and some factions work with the U.S.
Which of the two, China or the U.S. would be prevalent in this clandestine proxy warfare in Afghanistan is still unknown. We need to wait and see. However, given the rich and abundant monetary and human resources of China and the scarce and penny-pinching monetary and human resources of Britain and the U.S., it is likely that China would out-power and outspend Britain and the U.S. eventually.
Britain and the U.S. may demand such countries as Japan to provide secret financial support. But, Japan should reject it because, if Japan supports Britain and the U.S., she would support would-be underdogs.
The age of military aggression and intimidation, which was misnamed as "Pax" Britannica and "Pax" Americana, is about to end, and the age of mutual respect and prosperity, which is righteously named as Pax Sinica, is about to begin. Pax Sinica is the peace of our time and the peace of the 21st century.
Thank you.
